Cerenity E. Collins

Sociology, University of Georgia

Cerenity E. Collins is a PhD student at the University of Georgia. Her research focuses on racialized emotion, identity processes, and social networks. Her master’s thesis focused on how the experiences of race and other social positions impact reported affective sentiments. She is currently working on a project about the relationships between social network factors, identity, and the emotional experiences and self-reported mental health of African Americans. Her other current projects include an exploration of the link between racial identity, gender, and emotion complexity, a co-authored study exploring emotional responses to perceived racism, and a seed grant funded co-authored project examining mental health in the LGBTQ+ community.
