Dominique Horton

Social Work, Washington University in St. Louis

Dominique Horton is currently a third-year Ph.D. student in social work at the Brown School at Washington University in St. Louis where her research interests focus on the impact of racism on the education, well-being, and social mobility of Black children and their families. She primarily examines these issues through the lens ofK-12 education. As a former White House intern and school social worker, Dominique seeks to utilize mixed-methods research to inform both educational and social policies as well as interventions that will lead to more equitable outcomes for Black children. Dominique received her B.S. in Journalism, her MSW from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and her school social work endorsement from Loyola University Chicago. Dominique is also a licensed clinical social worker providing therapeutic services to both teens and adults.
